The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek

A Bed and Breakfast

We have stayed at this beautiful Bed and Breakfast in the past and have had such a wonderful experience that we keep returning. This time was no exception. It does not matter which season it is there is something to be said about the California coast. The weather was cool and rainy but we all enjoyed it. The dogs played all day and the cat watched them. It was very peaceful watching the pets enjoy the salty air and sand on their coats. They played for so long that they finally passed out staring at the sea.

This bed and breakfast offers cozy cottages as well and two beach front cottages five miles down the road. We stayed in one of the beach front cottages. The real bonus is that the yard is fenced and private so the dogs could be left outside peacefully. Another bonus of this bed and breakfast is that they offer a reusable backpack which has dog treats, a ball and a Frisbee for your pooch. The cottages also have a storage box which contains a blanket, towel, bowls and a place mat for your furry friends. They also have a pet bath area.

There are many pet friendly, fun things to do in the Mendocino area. Here is a list:

  • Buckhorn Cove- legal off leash beach
  • Van Damme State Park
  •
  • Russian Gulch State Park- Take the walk to the waterfall
  •
  • Point Cabrillo Light House
  •

    We're ready for the beach.

A friend stopped by with her dogs to visit.

My sister visited for the day with her kitty. He was more interested in going outside!

It was so peaceful that the pooches fell asleep staring out at the sea.
